Fast Takeoffs and Hard Landings: Ten31 Timestamp 938,757
The team at Ten31 is very high signal. I can confirm that John Arnold is, by my standards, a very smart guy. Highly recommend tuning in to this content and keeping an eye on Ten31's investment activity.
The idea that US involvement in Iran and Venezuela is related to Chinese oil supply is logical, but I’m still trying to make sense of it in the context of McNair’s perspective that Venezuela was not about drugs and oil, but about underwater drones. Perhaps both can be true.
First A China-Linked Ship, Now A US-Sanctioned Gas Tanker Transits Hormuz Chokepoint
I saw a post this week about the US potentially insuring or escorting tankers in “the Gulf” and I genuinely wasn’t sure if it was in the Middle East or the Caribbean. Interesting times we live in. The supply chain is fragile. We saw this during COVID times. I hope we do not see a similar scale of supply chain snarls due to conflict in the Middle East. The impact on consumer prices was painful last time around. That could be a source of friction for the easing interest rate environment that Trump and Warsh aim to kick off shortly.
Kraken Becomes First Crypto Firm to Win Access to Fed’s Core Payments System
I guess this is a big deal, but I confess to not caring very much because I don’t support these crypto casino businesses. For me, any service provider that deals with crypto and bitcoin is not to be trusted with your bitcoin. These businesses optimize for the least common denominator. So when they serve hundreds of scam altcoins, the technical level of security and safety is lower than a business that is focused on bitcoin only. That said, most folks’ first touch to bitcoin is through a large shitcoin casino like Kraken. And this is good press and notoriety for them. Others to follow? Hopefully a bitcoin-only service provider can get there one day soon as well.
