Continuing on the AI topic, the impacts of AI are being speculated about constantly as of late. There are essentially two camps, as per usual in current events. On one side, you have the AI deniers, who are not the least bit concerned about the AI impact on the economy, not short-term, not long-term, not at all. On the other side, you have folks like Mustafa Suleyman and Matt Shumer speculating that virtually all white collar workers will be unemployed inside of 18 months. Like most of these things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. It’s true, Opus 4.6 allows independent entrepreneurs to optimize their business in previously unimaginable ways. I am experiencing this in my own business. If every business adopted AI the way CBA has, I do believe the wave of unemployment would be as fast as some predict. However, having worked in larger institutions, I experienced bureaucracy firsthand. If you are worried about AI destroying all white-collar jobs and collapsing the economy, have faith! The large institutions that represent a large portion of employers in the US are incredibly slow moving and will not be firing all their employees in the near future due to AI improvements in efficiency. I’m bullish on the idea that a solo entrepreneur can suddenly outcompete a large, well-resourced competitor due to his ability to adopt new AI tools faster than the large incumbents.
